This is a 3 day course that will allow candidates to gain a Level 3 certificate in the use of a chainsaw from a Mobile Elevated Workplatform. 

Course Description

This 3 day course will cover the following:

1. How to deal with emergency situations affecting operators working from a MEWP
2. How to operate a chainsaw from a MEWP
3. Health and safety and industry good practice with the use of the MEWP.

PPE Requirements:

1. Candidates must bring an arborist helmet, with a chin strap, full mesh face shield or visor, and suitable ear defenders.
2. Chainsaw boots.
3. Chainsaw trousers with a minimum of Class 1 protection and a minimum of Type C coverage.
4. None snag clothing suitable for all weather.
5. Gloves suitable for rope work, Showa 310 are highly recommended.

Course Requirements:

Candidates must hold their CS30 and CS31 qualification prior to taking this assessment. It is advised that candidates bring their own chainsaw, maintenance kit, pruning saw and climbing equipment. This will give the best possible experience. Those candidates that do bring their own equipment will need to show proof of a full in date LOLER inspection of all equipment to be used during training and assessment.
