This course is designed to provide attendees with the knowledge to understand the principles of best practice in operating wood-chippers and to prepare them to take their intergrated Lantra woodchipper assessment.

Course Description

Woodchippers are powerful pieces of equipment and if they are not used correctly they have the potential to cause injury, this makes having training essential.  It is recommended for any person employed in arboriculture, forestry, horticulture, landscaping and grounds maintenance who is or will be required to operate woodchippers.

Course Contents 

1. Know the health & safety requirements for operating a wood-chipper
2. Be able to carry out a risk assessment on a site
3. Be able to prepare the equipment and site for wood-chipping operations
4. Be able to operate a wood-chipper
5. Carry out maintenance on a wood-chipper

Entry Requirements

The minimum age limit for this course is 16. There is no upper age limit
