PAT Testing

PAT Testing

What it involves
A PAT tester visually inspects and manually tests the appliance with a portable device. The test checks for things like earth continuity, lead polarity, and insulation resistance.
Why it's important
PAT testing helps ensure that people who use the appliances are not at risk of injury. It also helps the College comply with regulations by showing that they regularly inspect their equipment.
What happens after testing
The appliance is given a pass or fail sticker, and the results are recorded. Failed appliances must be removed and either repaired or replaced. Repaired appliances must pass another PAT test before being used again
