City & Guilds NPTC Level 2 Award in the Safe Use of Handheld Hedge Cutters.  This course is suitable for candidates working with hand held hedge cutters who wish to update their skills and / or satisfy Health & Safety legislation regarding the safe use of hand held hedge trimmers at work.

Course Description

The training course on the safe use of hand-held hedge cutters leads to candidates taking their City & Guilds NPTC assessment on a further date.   We also offer courses on tractor mounted hedge cutters – please contact us for further information on this option.

3. Know the appropriate PPE required for hand held hedge trimmer operations
4. Know the health & safety features of the equipment being used
5. Know there are different types of hedge trimmers
6. Understand hedge types and growth habits
7. Know how to maintain the hedge trimmer
8. Know how to prepare a work area
9. Know how to operate a hedge trimmer
10. Know how to clean, store and transport equipment safely and appropriately

Entry Requirements

The minimum age limit for Candidates taking Certificates of Competence is 16 years. There is no upper age limit.
