Course Description

Course Over-view: Our CS38 course which is formally known as Tree climbing and Aerial rescue is one of the first courses you need to complete to enable you to carry out aerial tree work. Furthermore this course is a legal requirement for anyone carrying out tree climbing operations.

Course Content:

This is a 6 day course (5 days training, 1 day assessment), which is designed for indviduals who climb trees as part of their work in arboriculutre, forestry and other industries that are looking at training to undertake this work in a professional capacity.

The course will provide individuals with the knowledge, understanding and skills required to climb trees and perform aerial rescue safely and to indsutry standards in line with current legislation.

  • Risk assessments
  • Emergency planning
  • Legislation
  • Indsutry best practice
  • Enironmental considerations
  • Tree condition and working at height in assessments
  • Equipment and systems
  • Tree Climbing
  • Aerial rescue by climbing suitably
  • Rescue Plans and implementation.

The college have limited PPE equipment for this course and it is not possible to purchase before hand. A full list of equipment needed along with specified PPE will be provided once you have signed up to the course.

Entry Requirements:

Learners must be physically fit and not suffering from vertigo or similar conditions. The minimum age limit for Candidates taking Certificates of Competence is 16 years. There is no upper age limit.
